Percentage Art – Gregor Taul

Intensive theoretical course (five 2-hour meetings and and a full-day excursion around the town) on public art for MA students of ceramics from the Estonian Academy of Arts Design and Crafts curriculum. During the course students take part of a public tender for the so-called One Percent Art. To help students frame their work historically and conceptually, the class looks at historical and contemporary examples of public art from Estonia and beyond as well as reading foundation texts on public space and art by Jürgen Habermas and Nancy Fraser.
